Alertee sends you email for two things: check alerts (a check you’re subscribed to fired or recovered) and incident comments (someone commented on an incident you’re subscribed to). Every person on an alert group’s email recipients gets these — including yourself for comments you post. These settings are personal to you and scoped to the current workspace. Changing them never affects your teammates.

Manage your notifications

Go to Settings → Alerts and find the personal section (“just you”). Each row — All notifications, Check alerts, and Incident comments — has two controls:
  • The switch turns that category on or off. Off = muted until you turn it back on (nothing is lost).
  • The clock snoozes it for a few hours (1, 3, or 24) — a timed mute that auto-expires. While snoozed, the row shows “Snoozed until …”.
Both take effect immediately and are personal to you.

Snooze or mute straight from an alert

You don’t have to wait for an email to quiet a noisy check. Open the incident in the Inbox and use the Snooze menu. It offers two scopes:
  • Quiet for everyone — snooze the check (1h/3h/24h or until tomorrow) or mute its alerts for the whole team. This is the same check-level snooze/mute you’ll find on the Checks list.
  • Just me — snooze or mute this check’s emails to you only, without affecting your teammates’ alerts. Resume anytime from the same menu or under Settings → Alerts.

Unsubscribe from an email

Every alert and comment email has an Unsubscribe link in the footer, plus a one-click List-Unsubscribe header that mail clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) surface as a native unsubscribe button. The footer link opens a page where you can snooze for a few hours or unsubscribe for good — both suppress that category (alerts or comments) for your address in that workspace. The native one-click button mutes it. Re-enable anytime under Settings → Alerts.
Unsubscribing only affects email. Slack and webhook delivery for an alert group are unchanged — those are shared team channels, not personal inboxes.

How suppression works

Suppression is keyed by email address + workspace + category (optionally scoped to a single check for “just me” mutes), so it works for external recipients (addresses that aren’t Alertee users) too — they unsubscribe via the email link, with no account required. A snooze stores an expiry and lifts itself automatically; a mute has none and stays until you turn it back on. A paused, snoozed, or unsubscribed recipient is simply skipped at send time; the rest of the alert group still receives the alert.
